Every bowl has a story — and this one begins in the scrap pile of a local cabinet shop.
Instead of heading to the dumpster, this highly figured walnut offcut was given a second life on the lathe. The result is a 6-inch wide, 2.5-inch tall closed-form bowl, finished in the distinctive “beaded” style — a subtle ridge that breaks the curve and catches the light in all the right ways.
This is a one-of-one piece, part of my daily turning series, where I create, finish, and release a single form each weekday. Once it’s gone, it’s gone.
